Red plastic grit feeder for birds.
All chickens need some form of grit in their diets, because they don’t have any teeth, they need a supply of small stone fragments to grind down their food in their gizzard.
If your birds free ranging and forage over a large area, they will more than likely pick up enough grit but, if confined to a run, they will need constant access to a supply of grit.
This large heavy duty plastic grit feeder (can also be used for poultry feed) provides easy access to grit for a wide range of poultry, as well as doves, pigeons and game birds too.
This red plastic grit feeder for birds is British-made from tough plastic and it has an anti-perch top to make sure feed cannot be contaminated by droppings.
The conical lid just snaps on and off for access. There is a divider inside so different grits and feeds can be placed in the same feeder.
Feed capacity depends on the type of feed, but as a guide it would take approx 3kg pellets/corn or 5-6kg of Grit.
