Paraffin plucking wax is the main type of wax used in the stripping of poultry feathers. It can be used on both dry and wet plucked birds - wet plucked birds such as duck and geese, or to wax finish a dry plucked bird such as turkeys. Our paraffin wax is a premium choice for processors seeking a reliable and efficient solution, this wax is characterized by its optimal melting point and excellent pliability. It ensures a smooth application and effectively gripping and removing feathers while maintaining the integrity of the skin.
The pastilles are particularly user-friendly, offering precise portion control and ease of handling, making them ideal for both large-scale and smaller processors.
We recommend paraffin wax is mixed with Microcrystalline plucking wax. Microcrystalline wax is much more flexible than paraffin wax, so mixed together they form a flexible, consistent and easy to remove layer over the skin.
We recommend a 3:1.5 ratio, 3 parts Paraffin to 1.5 parts Microcrystalline.
Wax is in stock, please contact us to order. Paraffin plucking wax comes in 25kg sacks of pastilles.
Please be aware of cheaper waxes on the market. Good quality poultry plucking wax is expensive, but that’s because it's of good quality and has the right melting point, which is extremely important. Unfortunately, most cheaper alternatives do not have the correct melting point, and need to be heated to a much high degree than is acceptable for use in poultry processing.
